We recently finished a kitchen redesign for a family and the transformation is amazing. This family called us to improve the floor plan of their new house, they were unhappy with the floor plan of the house, the kitchen set up, and the fact that it was dated.
The original layout of the house had the social area separated from the kitchen, a room that lacked storage and functionality. The only advantage of the house was the vaulted ceilings.
This is a photo facing the kitchen area from the living room, completely closed off from the rest of the house.
After speaking with the family about their desires for a more open floor plan, we decided to tear down the walls that separate the kitchen from the rest of the living areas to open up the space for better flow when entertaining.
The project began with the plans and 3D views to show the family exactly how their new kitchen was going to be, so they would have a clear vision of the design.
We created an open floor plan and designed the kitchen as the focus point of the house.
In this series of before photos, you can see how small and dated this kitchen was.
The finished product is a contemporary and functional space with an island that provides ample work surface. The cabinetry featuring recessed panel door in espresso color contrasted with the light wood floor. The cabinetry, and the selection of sophisticated materials, brought this kitchen to a new level.
42” wall cabinets emphasized the vaulted ceiling that was a great feature in the home.
Leathered finish granite counter tops and oversized subway tile were used in counter tops and back-splash.
Following are a few more after photos from this project. A total transformation!
